Why it mattered

Civic projects belong to the public, and the public notices when a date slips. Elected officials, donors and residents deserve a schedule that tells them the truth early.

The challenge

A performing arts center renovated its halls and public spaces while keeping its main seasons intact.

Work was compressed into dark periods between performances, and acoustic and rigging work demanded specialist sequencing. Any dark week left half-planned was a week that could not be recovered.

Schedule at a glance

The whole program, on one line.

Start to finish, as the schedule tells it. For work still in progress, the bar moves with today's data date.

How we held the date

Our approach, phase by phase.

The same disciplined sequence we bring to every engagement, shaped around what this project needed most.

PHASE 01PHASE 02PHASE 03PHASE 04
PHASE 01Respect the windows

Environmental, seasonal and event windows built in as hard constraints from the first baseline.

PHASE 02Make permits milestones

Every agency approval tracked as a dated milestone with a named owner.

PHASE 03Report for the public

Progress reporting clear enough to share with residents, donors and elected officials without translation.

PHASE 04Work to opening day

The celebration date held as the critical finish, with every activity driving toward it.

What changed

The difference we made

Measured the only way that matters: whether the date and the budget held.

Result 01Not one curtain held

Across two seasons of work, no performance was cancelled or delayed by construction.

Result 02Dark weeks planned in full

Each dark period had its crews, deliveries and inspections locked before the last bow of the preceding show.

Result 03Gala night kept

The renovated hall reopened for its gala on the night the board had announced.
