The practice

Judgment, taught by those who exercise it.

The scarcest resource on most capital programs is not software or method. It is people who can build a baseline worth defending, read a critical path honestly and explain a forecast to a board. Too much training teaches the menus and stops there, producing planners who can operate the tool but cannot tell you whether the schedule in front of them is telling the truth.

The Barkley Institute teaches the discipline first and the software in service of it. Every instructor is a working practitioner who brings real updates, real disputes and real recoveries into the room. Participants leave able to apply the Barkley standard on their own program the following week, and leaders leave knowing which questions expose a schedule or a cost report that is not what it seems.

Why it matters

Teach the judgment, and the tools follow

Software interfaces change with every release. The ability to recognize a broken logic chain, a padded duration or an optimistic forecast lasts a career, and it is what your programs actually depend on.

01

Practitioner faculty

Instructors who plan, control and analyze live capital programs.

02

Real scenarios

Exercises drawn from the kinds of updates, changes and disputes teams actually face.

03

Your standards

Private cohorts built around your procedures, templates and systems.

04

Capability that lasts

Follow-up support, reference material and clear next steps after every course.

The most reliable control on any capital program is the judgment of the people running it. That is worth investing in deliberately.
