Our story

Built for owners who need the truth, early.

RichardBarkley began with one observation and one conviction. Capital programs were producing more reports than ever, and still missing their dates. What owners lacked was not information. It was command.

The gap

Owners had reports. They lacked command.

The pattern was hard to ignore. Programs worth hundreds of millions of dollars were steered by schedules that could not be believed: logic missing, dates held by constraints, float that existed only on paper. Monthly reports grew thicker while the critical path drifted, and the people accountable to boards and lenders often learned the truth last.

The schedule usually belonged to the contractor, and served the contractor. Large consultancies sold seniority at the pitch and delivered it rarely after. What owners needed was rarer: an independent, senior partner who could read the critical path, tell them plainly what the data date showed, and help them act while acting still mattered.

RichardBarkley was built to be that partner.

The conviction

Five beliefs the firm is built on

Every practice we offer, and every way we work, follows from these.

I

Truth is worth most when it is early

A slip seen at the data date can be recovered. The same slip discovered at handover can only be explained. Foresight is the most valuable thing a controls partner can provide.

II

The critical path is where command lives

Dashboards summarize. The critical path decides. An owner who understands what drives the finish date can make decisions that a thicker report never will.

III

Independence is not optional

Advice shaped by software margins, equipment commissions or a conflicting appointment is not advice. Our only interest is the outcome of the client we serve.

IV

Seniority belongs on the work

The people who earn a client's trust should be the people who do the work. Principals lead every engagement, from the first review to the final record.

V

Everything should be defensible

A baseline, a forecast or a delay finding is only as good as its ability to stand up before a board, a lender or a tribunal. We build every deliverable to that standard.

We were not built to produce more reports. We were built to give owners command of the outcome.
