Scope statement

Measure the impact now, while it can still be agreed.

A time impact analysis models a defined event, typically as a fragnet inserted into the update current at the time of the event, and measures what it does to completion and key milestones. Many contracts require one before time is granted, and done well it is the fastest route to agreeing an extension while the project is still live.

For contractors we prepare TIAs that meet the contract's procedural requirements and anticipate the reviewer's questions on logic, float and mitigation. For owners we review submitted TIAs line by line, separating genuine impact from optimistic logic, sequestered float and duplicated events, so you grant what is due and can explain why.

RFI log · questions answered

What leaders ask us first.

Straight answers. If yours isn't logged here, raise it with us directly. A principal will respond.

When should a TIA be prepared?

As soon as practicable after the event, in line with the contract's notice and submission periods. Late TIAs lose credibility and sometimes entitlement.

What exactly is a fragnet?

A fragment network: a small set of activities and logic representing the event or change, inserted into the schedule so its effect on the critical path can be measured.

Can you review TIAs our contractor has submitted?

Yes. Owners regularly retain us to review contractor TIAs for method, logic, float use and reasonableness, and to draft a response that can be defended.

The next step

Command the date you announced.

Book a 45-minute program review with a senior principal. You will leave with an independent read of where your schedule and cost really stand, and the three moves that matter most.
