Why it mattered

Public buildings serve people who cannot wait: courts, emergency services, federal agencies. They have to keep working while they are rebuilt, and every decision has to stand up to public scrutiny.

The challenge

A county expanded and renovated its courthouse and detention center, both of which operate around the clock.

Security, inmate movement and court calendars set the rules for every phase. A poorly sequenced phase could close a courtroom or open a gap in a secure perimeter.

Schedule at a glance

The whole program, on one line.

Start to finish, as the schedule tells it. For work still in progress, the bar moves with today's data date.

How we held the date

Our approach, phase by phase.

The same disciplined sequence we bring to every engagement, shaped around what this project needed most.

PHASE 01PHASE 02PHASE 03PHASE 04
PHASE 01Respect operations

Court calendars, security protocols and operations captured as hard constraints.

PHASE 02Comply from day one

Schedules built to public-sector CPM specifications from the first submission.

PHASE 03Resolve change fairly

Time impact analysis to settle change promptly, on evidence, without dispute.

PHASE 04Cut over without a gap

Moves and system cutovers planned so service never stops.

What changed

The difference we made

Measured the only way that matters: whether the date and the budget held.

Result 01Every docket heard

Court calendars ran uninterrupted; no session was cancelled for construction across thirty-two months.

Result 02Secure lines held throughout

Each detention phase was planned with the sheriff's team so the perimeter stayed intact at every transition.

Result 03Commissioners briefed in plain terms

A monthly schedule report told elected officials what changed, why, and what decision, if any, was needed.
