Why it mattered

Food and beverage plants live by market windows: peak season, retail launches, distribution contracts. A schedule that misses the window does not lose weeks; it loses the year.

The challenge

A snack food brand expanded one of its plants to meet rising demand. Retail commitments had already been made on the strength of the new capacity.

A Quebec winter, cross-border equipment logistics and a bilingual project team each added risk. The first draft schedule treated winter as ordinary working time, which our baseline review flagged in its first week.

How we held the date

Our approach, phase by phase.

The same disciplined sequence we bring to every engagement, shaped around what this project needed most.

PHASE 01PHASE 02PHASE 03PHASE 04
PHASE 01Protect production

Shutdowns placed in low-demand periods, with every outage planned to the hour.

PHASE 02Put equipment on the path

Process equipment tracked from factory slot to setting on its foundation.

PHASE 03Integrate the vendors

Line vendors, automation and building trades working to one critical path.

PHASE 04Validate and ramp

Line trials, food-safety validation and ramp-up scheduled as real work with real durations.

What changed

The difference we made

Measured the only way that matters: whether the date and the budget held.

Result 01First product on target

The first saleable product came off the new line on the target date.

Result 02Winter built in

Cold-weather work was sequenced and costed in the baseline instead of surfacing later as delay.

Result 03Imports tracked end to end

Imported process equipment was followed from factory to installation, customs clearance included.
