Why it mattered

Airports do not close. Every phase must keep passengers moving, airlines flying and security working, while new capacity rises beside them.

The challenge

A major hub airport is adding a new concourse and gates to meet record passenger growth.

Airfield work, baggage systems and airline commitments have to be phased around a relentless operation and across several separate contracts. Leadership needed one view of schedule, cost and risk, not a stack of contractor reports.

Schedule at a glance

The whole program, on one line.

Start to finish, as the schedule tells it. For work still in progress, the bar moves with today's data date.

How we held the date

Our approach, phase by phase.

The same disciplined sequence we bring to every engagement, shaped around what this project needed most.

PHASE 01PHASE 02PHASE 03PHASE 04
PHASE 01Phase around operations

Gates, checkpoints and roadways phased so the airport keeps running at every stage.

PHASE 02Align every party

Airlines, security agencies, concessionaires and the airport working from one master schedule.

PHASE 03Integrate the systems

Baggage, security and IT testing planned months ahead of opening.

PHASE 04Schedule readiness

Training, operational trials and transfer to operations planned to the day.

What changed

The difference we made

Measured the only way that matters: whether the date and the budget held.

Result 01Integrated program controls

Schedule, cost and risk are integrated across every contract in a single program baseline.

Result 02Baggage risk surfaced early

Baggage handling system testing is planned months ahead and tracked as a critical chain.

Result 03Gate forecasts airlines can use

Airlines receive gate-availability forecasts reliable enough to build their own schedules around.
